The Primal Blueprint

Today Coot and I started our new diet plan. It is called "The Primal Blueprint" or can be referred to as primal living. It consists of no processed foods, breads, grains, or other sugary foods. It has gone great so far. I had 2 slices of bacon and a glass of orange juice for breakfast. I am allowed to have 50-100 carbs a day. I think I can survive. I love my pasta and bread, but am really ready to lose this extra weight I have been toting around. I need to lose 45 pounds and I know it is going to be quite a challenge to achieve that weight loss goal. We are going to start the Couch to 5k as well. Hopefully, this will get us both back on track. Coot only has about 20 pounds to lose to be at his goal weight.

My garden is growing nicely, so that will help with the diet, too. I have 3 watermelons on my vine. They look so good, I can't wait for them to be ready to pick! A family in our church gave us a dozen of their fresh eggs. They were so pretty, I had to share a picture of them with you.

They are going to be so good!!

June Birthdays

I know this post is late. Free time has been pretty elusive for me lately. I actually had some free time this week, but my allergies were acting up really bad. Therefore, I didn't feel up to doing much of anything. June brought with it my husband's 30th birthday and my son's 4th. My in-laws came in to spend the week with us, so they could be here for both birthdays. We had a lot of fun. The time went by too quickly and before we knew it, it was time for them to go. Saying goodbye has always been a hard task for me. I don't like it! Maybe it's because I am such a family oriented person. I don't know.
Anyway, I wanted to post some pictures of the birthday boys. We celebrated Coot's on the 4th and Sparrow's on the 8th. They are two of the most precious men in my life!

Sparrow blowing out his candles. The cake didn't turn out as well as I would have liked it to. It was harder to make than what I thought it would be.

For some reason I didn't have a picture of Coot with his cake. This one will have to do. He is now officially a member of the 30's club!

I will try to do better about posting in the future.
