Can We Grow an Apple Tree?

That's the question my children asked me one day after eating a Granny Smith apple. I told them I didn't know, but that we could sure try. I never expected it to actually work. Here is what we did:

I just put the seeds in a jar with some wet cotton balls. We "planted" six. Only one grew.

How it looked after I transplanted it.

How it looks today. It is growing so well.

  1. This is excellent! We tried to do this as well, but we were in the process of moving and the poor plant got neglected. My ds and I will have to give it another go now that we've seen your success it gives us hope. Thank you for sharing.
