Ready to Garden

So, I started my garden! I am really excited about all the delicious vegetables I am going to be growing. I call it a salsa garden, because it is a lot of tomatoes, peppers, and corn. Stuff you would put in salsa.

My seedlings that I started from seed at the end of March.

The tilled plot of land. It's about 18 ft by 10 ft.

Planting. It was a lot of work. It's gonna be worth it!

The garden completely planted.

I planted some okra and squash as well. I planted Green Bell, Red Bell, Jalapeno, and Serrano peppers. I also planted Roma and Beef Steak tomatoes.

Keep your eyes out for progress pictures. You know I will be posting them as we go!

Silence

I want to apologize for my lengthy silence. I have neglected my poor little blog badly. As most of you know, I started a part-time job as a pharmacy technician back in October. Things were going really well until mid March.

During March, the other pharmacy technician was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She has been undergoing a lot of chemotherapy, so I have had to pull a lot of extra hours. This has put a lot of stress and strain on me.
I have been so incredibly busy that my blog was put on the back burner temporarily. I have watched my friend keep a good outlook as she undertakes these treatments. She continues to smile and keep a very positive attitude.

I watched her the other day as she took her four-year-old baby girl in her arms and just held her. I can't imagine looking at my babies not knowing what tomorrow would hold. Needless to say, I have been holding my babies a lot closer here lately. She did have a sonogram appointment yesterday to see how she is progressing. The spot has shrunk significantly and they are saying that they will now surgically remove it. They plan to do that a week from today. She will then have to undergo some radiation. She found it early enough that it was just one spot a little over an inch in size. They did a full body scan and it wasn't anywhere else in her body. We think that is good news and are hoping for a full recovery. She will be able to say she is a Breast Cancer survivor and be a light to others in the process. Please help me lift her up in prayer. Her name is Bridget.

Once again, I apologize for the lengthy silence. I hope to be posting some other blogs soon. I have garden pictures to share with you all. I am really excited about my garden this year! It is going to be a lot of fun to watch grow.
